Weekend Perspective: Your Information and Education Show

Weekend Perspective: Your Information and Education Show

February 2, 2018
Weekend Perspective: Community Action Coalition

Have you heard...? Entercom Madison, made up of 94.9 WOLX, and our sister stations 105.1 The Mix and 105.5 Triple M, offers a weekly, hour-long show featuring information and education on topics important to you. This ranges from highlighting the work being done by area nonprofits to sharing more in-depth details about government processes; also, community-based interests, children-specific programming, and much more.

I recently took on the role as our public interest director, and have talked with local leaders, volunteers, and those who are being helped by Habitat for Humanity and its annual "Souper Bowl" Fundraiser. I've interviewed the local father who created Joey's Song in honor of his son who died of epilepsy, and featured some of the musicians involved. And I've shared the story behind The Madison Reading Project, and though fairly new, learned this project has already given away more than 25,000 books to children who don't have anything to read at home. Some of these interviews have been surprising, but the goal of every single one is to share information and education interesting to you, our listeners.

This Sunday, the Community Action Coalition's Mallory Swenson will be one of our guests on Weekend Perspective. Our Entercom stations are partnered with C.A.C. to help collect cold weather clothing for our neighbors in need. Please join us at 5am on WOLX, 6am on WMMM, and 7am on WMHX for the tull interview. You can hear a quick sample from it at the audio link, below.

And we want to hear from you. Do you have a topic we should consider for Weekend Perspective? Connect via our Contact Us page, or by emailing me at [email protected]

Thanks for listening!
