Three Things You Need to do This Weekend! Teri Picks a Few Area Events and Shares Her Suggestions with You!

So many events. So little time.

It's why we started our "Three Things You Need to do This Weekend" feature! It's a spring-board off of our regular "Three Things You Need to Know in the News" each morning, knowing you need to get caught up quickly on everything happening in the news. You've responded so well to it, we decided to sift through all the events going on throughout our area, too. Picking just three isn't easy, so sometimes you'll get a few bonus ideas, along with all of the information you need to help you decide if you want to check it out.

Here are our ideas for the first weekend of May!

1.  Maifest, 2019 at the Essen Haus, Madison with 15% of the proceeds going to our friends at the Dane County Humane Society:   This annual event has a little something for everyone -- food, drinks, music, games, and so much more. BONUS. Madison Beer Week wraps up this weekend, so you can enjoy some great craft beer, too. More info about Maifest supporting DCHS, here.

BONUS:  And you can find more info about Madison Beer Week, mentioned above, here.

2.  Learn to create a beautiful container of flowers with help from the experts at America's Best Flowers in Cottage Grove:   I love this idea. The team at America's Best will guide you through the process, AND clean up the mess when you are done!  Hooray! This fun workshop is happening Saturday, May 4th at 10 AM, and again on Sunday, May 5th at 3 PM. Find all the details, including directions to America's Best (easy, and pretty 10 minute drive from downtown Madison), here.

3.  What do you know about pancreatic cancer? Join others participating in Purple Stride Madison at Warner Park, Saturday, May 4th:  It's your chance to learn, and support research for a cure of what's described as one of the toughest cancers to fight. If you didn't already register, don't worry. You can sign up Saturday morning just before the walk, or you can simply show up, and cheer those on who are taking part! Find all the info, here.

Also, listen to a recent interview I had the pleasure of doing with Niketa Miller. She made a promise to her Grandmother to increase awareness and fundraising, and you'll want to hear how she is keeping her promise! Check it out, here.
