LISTEN: Our Party with Sixteen Candles is going to be Cool. Why? One of the Guys in the Band is a Cheesehead, too!

How many years have you been working at your current job? It's hard to believe the McGaw in the Morning show is two, yes, TWO years old in November. And because Jim and I work in "the media" -- which in our particular case here at Classic Hits 94.9 WOLX  -- is radio, we are going to celebrate it. We're sure, like many of you, there have been several jobs before this one. Jim has worked at other radio stations and ran a mobile DJ service; while I've worked in TV news across the state and country, along with always working in radio. But thanks to you, this one is probably providing both of us with some of the most fun we've had during our long careers! So, why not celebrate it? Our friends at Majestic Madison heard about our anniversary, and thanks to Matt and Hillary, all the fun is happening there with the Ultimate 80's Dance Party Band, Sixteen Candles.

We thought it couldn't get any cooler.

We've made it two years, still have our show featuring an hour of 80's music everyday, and haven't "divorced" each other yet, either. Just for fun, Jim and I decided to call up the guys in the band to learn more about them, and why they have such a tie to the 1980's. We chatted with Scott Barbeau, the group's keyboard and keytar (it is the 80's!) player and singer. Turns out, Scott has as much cheese in his veins as we do, and there are a few other fun things we learned about him. You'll want to listen to our conversation, below.

Now we know, this celebration IS going to be cooler than cool. We hope you'll join us for all the fun on Friday, November 2nd. The doors to the Majestic open at 8pm, and the party gets underway at 9. Help us kick off year #3, ok?
